04 Gap 4 of 5 · Connection

The connection gap: can they experience the marina before they drive out?

Choosing a marina is not transactional. A boater wants to see the docks, meet the dockmaster, and know the lake is up before they tow two hours to find out.

A slip is a year-long relationship with a place and the people who run it. Video of your docks on a Saturday morning, the dockmaster’s name and face, a dock map, live lake level and ramp status, and a slip holder telling their own story do what a list of amenities cannot: they let a boater feel the marina before they commit to the drive, the call, and the lease.

Why it matters

A boater who arrives already attached to the place leases faster and stays longer. A boater who arrives to compare leaves to compare.

What we look at

  1. Whether a boater can see your docks, slips, and facilities in video and a dock map before they visit
  2. Whether they can meet the dockmaster or GM on the site
  3. Whether lake level, ramp status, and fuel dock hours are on the site before they leave home
  4. Whether slip holders tell their story anywhere a prospective boater can see it

How we close it

Video and content, lake and ramp status on every marina’s site, and dock maps a boater can read.

Video and content

Let a boater walk the docks before they visit.

Video of your docks on a Saturday morning, the dockmaster saying who the marina is for, a slip holder telling their own story, and a lake guide that answers the questions boaters ask before they choose a lake, let alone a marina. The same footage carries the channels a boater actually browses on the way to deciding.

Lake status and dock maps

The lake, the ramp, and the fuel dock, on the site before they leave home.

Lake level against normal pool, ramp status, courtesy dock, fuel dock hours, updated by your staff in a minute a day or fed from a gauge where one exists. Plus a dock map a boater can read, so “where would my boat be” is answered before the call. This is Tool 4 in the tool layer.

Measured, not guessed

Get your five gaps measured.

Give us your marina or group website. A strategist runs the checks that can be measured from outside and sends your five gaps in cost order, with the numbers behind each.

What we measure

  • Where you rank, from the towns boaters tow in from, per marina.
  • How your reviews compare with the other marinas on the lake.
  • What your site says, and whether a group reads as one.
  • Whether a boater can find a slip that fits, join a waitlist, and see a cost on a phone.

Which gap is costing you the most?

Two minutes, no email wall. Or let a strategist measure all five.
